Iced cacao – perfect for hot summer days
You can only drink cocoa warm as hot chocolate? No way! My new, absolute favourite drink in summer is iced cacao aka iced cocoa! It’s easy to make, really refreshing and simply delicious. Of course, Dein Kakao is the best choice, because you don’t have to add anything else. Simply take your own creation or your favourite sort and mix it with your (plant-based) milk – et voilà: your summer refreshment is ready!
Equipment
- blender
Ingredients
- 500 ml oat milk or any other (plant-based) milk
- 30 g cacao
- 4 ice cubes
Instructions
- Pour your milk into the blender, add the cacao powder and the ice cubes, and blend for about 30 seconds on the highest setting.
- Fill your iced cacao in two glasses, add ice cubes if needed and as always: Enjoy to the fully fullest!

The perfect refreshment for hot summer days!
Actually, I’m a total coffee fanatic, but especially in summer, coffee is always a bit counterproductive. Although iced coffee is a delicious way to cool down, it also stimulates your circulation because of the caffeine it contains. Although the cold drink cools you down at first, your circulation is stimulated by the caffeine it contains and you sweat even more afterwards than before!
Iced cacao also contains small amounts of caffeine, which are linked to your melatonin balance (more on this soon!), but far less than coffee. So, drinking cold cacao is a great way to cool down. I prefer to use Dein Kakao, as you don’t have to add any sugar, etc. – for example, “The really HOT chocolate”, “doping” or “YOO ZOO” are simply infinitely delicious cold. In a stand mixer with (vegetable) milk and a few ice cubes, it’s simply my new favourite drink in summer! Try it out – even with your own creation! Of course, you can also use any other cacao powder. Then, you have to add your favourite spices, and some sugar (alternative) and blend it. There are no boundaries to your fantasy! Ever tried “Hot Chocolate Popsicles”? 😉
I would be happy if you subscribe to my Facebook fan page – the easiest way to stay up to date. Of course, you can also share this post or my other recipes and blog posts – sharing is caring! <3
