Hot Chocolate Popsicles (Recipe)

Hot Chocolate Ice Lollies

Hot chocolate popsicles? How? Well, I could have called it “chocolate ice cream”, but that sounds super boring and doesn’t do my creation justice – at least not to me! 😉 And since it shouldn’t be just a treat for the eyes, but should prick up your ears, I’ve named my ice cream “hot chocolate popsicles”. It sounds delicious, and, above all, it’s easy to make! Let’s go!

Heisse Schokolade am Stiel - klingt komisch, ist aber super lecker! Das etwas andere Schokoladeneis, das Du ganz einfach zu Hause zubereiten kannst. Natürlich vegan und glutenfrei!

Chocolate ice cream on a stick – something a little different

Theoretically, you can make your hot chocolate popsicles with any cocoa powder. Of course, I use our own cocoa powder from Dein Kakao – because it’s my own brand. For example, I decided to use Michi as our children’s cocoa here, because it gives me the taste of Michi right away. Super delicious, with a subtle hint of nutmeg, cinnamon and banana. But “The really HOT chocolate” also tastes great as a popsicle with its tonka bean.

You can also easily refine your popsicles. For example, you can add cocoa nibs, chia seeds or a little agave syrup if the sweetness is not enough. Frozen food actually tastes a little less sweet at first “bite”, as our tongue is somewhat “irritated” by the cold. Therefore, you can add some xylitol or a sweetener of your choice if your ice cream is not sweet enough for you. You can also dip your ice cream in chocolate sauce after removing it from the mould, roll it in puffed amaranth, for example, and then enjoy it. I think I’ll do that right away… O:)

Hot Chocolate Popsicles - sounds weird but is super easy to prepare, perfect for hot summer days and, of course, vegan and gluten-free! Let's give it a try!

Popsicles – the perfect summer refreshment

Alternatively, you can use the popsicle mould to make a chia-turmeric ice cream, which even made it into World Vegan Magazine! If turmeric is too intense for you, here’s another recipe for chia-almond ice cream or chocolate-protein ice cream. As you can see, there are no limits to your creativity!
